Scheveningen, NL (say “chev en engine” with extra Flemish phlem) is The Hague’s North Sea beach community.

...to the garish orderly formality of Scheveningen:

can just picture the bloomers and swim caps.

Couldn’t decide if Scheveningen is more like Santa Monica (without the traffic) or Virginia Beach (without the $2 t-shirts and guilt-wracked parents) or Atlantic City (dialing back the profit thirst from 11 to 8.)

Miami’s South Beach it’s not – at least not in June.

But you can sense that these eurobeachclubs all groove in their own way at the right time of day (or month.)

Especially if you like purple bean bag chairs.
