Portland OR: More Afforested than Seattle
Portland Oregon is notably narrower and twistier and more forested than its bigger neighbor to the north. Seriously forested -- like an eruption of green all over the hillsides as if San Francisco had been overtaken by cedar-aromatic kudzu. Portland combines Pittsburghy river-grit with Vancouver cultural aspiration, all the while sporting the Pendleton plaid. Rip City is not overrun with hipsters, which, within its city limits, Jet City may indeed finally be. Plus, no need for pennies in Oregon.

Portland has fewer water views than Seattle, but it makes up for it with the sylvan scene.
